Orange and turquoise may sound like a crazy combination but it is a color combo that is popping up everywhere this spring from clothes to weddings and beyond! Summer weddings should be about bold, fun, tropical colors and nothing says tropical quite like turquoise!

Pull in the color of the ocean waves by dressing your bridesmaids in a rich turquoise color and have them accent with orange flower hairpieces. Let the guys get in on a bit of the fun by having them go barefoot at your beachfront ceremony, wear sand colored suits and have an orange hankie tucked in the pocket of their jackets!

Don’t forget about your guests….hand each guest a silk fan with a linen color background and turquoise writing and place a hibiscus flower on each important person’s seat (mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, aunts and uncles). What a great way to make your guests feel that they are just as important to your wedding day as your bridal party!

For your reception, make sure that the feeling under your tent is party party party! Serve pineapple martinis as your signature drink. Incorporate hot pink orchids dripping from the ceiling and in your centerpieces, and don’t forget to have a fantastic band! Start the night off with a steel-drum player while everyone is coming into the tent and then really get the party started with a lively band! Pull in the turquoise by projecting lights with patterns onto the ceiling of the tent and allow the lights to create a feeling of being in a tropical wonderland!

With the snowstorm going on outside and all this talk of summer it is making me want to throw a really fabulous “welcome summer” party in a few months….whose coming!?
